An unforgettable horse holiday in Portugal - our experience at Quinta do Falcao

If you are looking for a holiday that is perfect for the whole family AND revolves around horses, the horse holiday at Quinta do Falcao in Portugal comes highly recommended. Together with my family, I got to spend a week at this beautiful place, and it was truly an experience we will never forget.

Something for everyone

What makes this holiday so special is that it is suitable for everyone - whether you are an experienced rider, beginner, or don't even ride at all. While me and my daughter enjoyed a 45-minute private riding lesson each morning with the amazing trainer Pedro, my husband was able to have a great time with other activities at the Quinta. Pedro is not only a top trainer, but also great with children. My daughter immediately felt at ease and learned a huge amount.

Meanwhile, there were also plenty of alternatives for those who did not want to get on a horse. The Quinta offered a cosy atmosphere, with tours of the impressive museum full of historic carriages and traditional costumes. And, of course, there was the swimming pool, where the children could play happily.

Holiday highlights

Every day brought something new and special. The sumptuous lunches at the Quinta were always a feast, and the dinners in the evening offered the perfect end to the day. One of our favourite moments was the picnic by the river. The highlight? Riding on horseback through the water! It felt almost magical, and even for my daughter, who is only a novice rider, this was an unforgettable experience.

The BBQ evenings and football tournament at the Quinta were also great times to get to know other families. There was a relaxed atmosphere, and the children quickly made new friends. Floor had organised everything incredibly nicely for the children, with music and singing every day at the know and nice presents on the plates for lunch.

Perfect for families

What makes this holiday truly unique is the way everything revolves around togetherness. Whether you drive or not, a programme is put together to suit everyone in the family. We immensely enjoyed the freedom to choose for ourselves in the afternoon: join the organised programme, or just explore the area. The nearby town is incredibly pleasant, and we also spent a day on the beach where you can rent canoes.

An experience to remember

This holiday offers so much more than just horse riding. It is a chance to get closer together, have new experiences, and of course enjoy the amazing Lusitano's.
The organisation was organised to perfection, and the hospitality of the team really made it complete.
